notscaredjustchanging:
Hey everyone!
So I got a lot of questions about my God Tier Jade hood, as seen in [S] Kids: Rise Up. I have created a tutorial (with photos!) that should hopefully help you out creating your own. It is COMPLETELY based off of the tutorial by everyonesahero , so they get full credit for the original tutorial! I can only take credit for the few modifications I made.
I would...

The beta and alpha kid emblems as created by Andrew Hussie for Homestuck (all rights belonging to him, these charts are meant for personal use only); charted to the same scale as the previous zodiac and god tier signs. All charts are 50 sts by 60 rows and the image is centered on that…

MY FIRST FORAY INTO THE WORLD OF KNITS WAS A SUCCESS
ALWAYS USE DOUBLE-STITCH SEAMS AND THEN DO A ZIGZAG TO REINFORCE
STRETCH THE FABRIC SLIGHTLY
DO NOT TRY TO CUT OUT YOUR FABRIC ON CARPET, THE KNIT WILL GET BUNCHY AND YOU’LL GET PISSED OFF AND WISH YOU’D DONE IT ON A FLAT HARD SURFACE LIKE YOU SHOULD DO WITH ALL YOUR FABRIC JEGUS YOU’RE DUMB SOMETIMES

Cosplay and Shit Like That: IRONING IS COOLER THAN... →
oosaji:
I never thought ironing was cool at all until I decided to read the Wikipedia on it.
Ironing works by loosening the bonds between the long-chain polymer molecules in the fibers of the material. While the molecules are hot, the fibers are straightened by the weight of the iron, and they…

BE PREPARED
I did a lot of handsewing for finishing up my Madoka uniform jacket - the zipper was sewn by hand, as is the lace trim. Here’s a link in preparation for that, which should make your sewing easier:

Also useful would be to know / look up:
- Whip stitch - Back stitch - Slip stitch Though I’ll do my utmost to be clear in describing how I sewed different areas, and...

Madoka Uniform Top: Pt. 2- Sewing!
Hey there! I’m happy if you’ve stuck around this far : ) Here we’re going to sew the jacket together, up to the point that you’re ready to embellish it with a zipper, the cuffs, bias tape and lace trims, and a cute little bow for the back.
Just to reiterate some points about materials needed (also added to pt. 1)
I used about 1.75 meters of fabric (1.9 yds) for my...

Madoka Uniform jacket - modified puff sleeve
The first puff sleeve pattern I chose to cut out ended up having too much of a curve along the lower edge when I test-sewed it, so this is how I reduced the curve on my fabric pieces : O
Below is simply a picture of my two fabric pieces laid one over top of the other, exactly lined up along the edges.
Then I folded them in half lengthwise, matching up the lower edges since they were...
